The origin of the Llandovacaste birminghamensis logo:

Llandovacaste b. is a trilobite found only in Birmingham (at least to the best of my knowledge). The original type specimen was collected from the Red Mountain Roadcut - the one formerly administered by the Red Mountain Museum. The genus Llandovacaste is found only in the southeastern US and in western Europe, and is thus one of the lines of fossil evidence that North America and Europe were once much closer together (i.e. continental drift evidence).
