The annual Science Teacher Workshop was conducted by the University of West Alabama, and the Geological Survey of Alabama. Volunteer assistance was provided by members of BPS.
Hot summer day, cold creek, shark teeth, an excellent combination!
BPS is holding an Open House at the Homewood Library on Sunday July 28, from 2:30 until 4pm, upstairs in the Round Auditorium. There will be light refreshments, fossils to examine, and a "fossil dig" where kids can find fossils, have them identified, and take them home. Our "Fossils of Alabama" exhibit is in the display cases at the library all month.
The Homewood Library is at 1721 Oxmoor Rd, Homewood, AL.
Our speaker on August 5 will be Dr. Dana Ehret, Curator of Paleontology for the Alabama Museum of Natural History at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
