This one day workshop will be in Livingston, Alabama on Tuesday, October 22, 2013.  Taught by professors from the University of West Alabama and geologists from the Geological Survey of Alabama, it is primarily for science teachers, and will help integrate real earth science into the curricula.  The cost is $15.  Teachers will find fossils at a research site, receive a copy of Lost Worlds in Alabama Rocks by Dr. Jim Lacefield, and each person will make a fossil kit for classroom use.  There will also be a number of door prizes and other material, including Discovering Alabama DVD's, posters, and other items.  Transportation to the collecting sites, continental breakfast and lunch are also provided. (Dr. Lacefield's book costs much more than the workshop fee, if you can even find it anymore!)
