A teacher workshop in Livingston Alabama on Tuesday, October 18, will provide experience collecting and identifying fossils from the fossiliferous limestone chalks of south Alabama. All teachers who feel this experience and the materials they receive in the classroom will assist them back in their own schools are welcome to attend.

Workshop presented by the Geological Survey of Alabama, the University of Alabama, Discovering Alabama, the Black Belt Museum, the Alabama Geological Society, and with volunteer help from the Birmingham Paleontological Society.

Details are on the attached workshop flyer.  Cost is only $15, which includes lunch, transportation to the collecting sites, and the book "Lost Worlds in Alabama Rocks", by Dr. Jim Lacefield.  Generally, there are also numerous door prizes.
