Late Friday night, October 19th, the old familiar BPS website was retired, and the new, improved version was moved into production. The new BPS website uses a Content Management System to manage the pages and photos, and provides a means for members to easily and quickly post information on the site. The site now boasts a calendar to keep up with fossil related events, and a sneak preview of the latest field trip photos on the front page. Hopefully you will find the new paleontology RSS feed from Topix.net of interest. The new site also provides a way to restrict private information to members only. All the information and trip reports from the old website have been migrated over; in the works is a section on "Fossil Tips and Techniques", a Geology of Alabama section, and scanning and posting of the old BPS newsletters - Origins. If you experience any problems or notice missing information, please notify the webmaster via the "Contact BPS" link.
Note of interest - the fossils in the backround are from the entrance bannisters at the Geologic Survey of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
