It turned out to be another hot, steamy, sunny, gorgeous day for a field trip to a creek. Fortunately for us, this creek had a canopy of trees that overshadowed the waters and provided a cool environment. There was fun to be had on that day with many finds and discoveries, mostly consisting of fossilized shark and other marine fossils as well as mammal teeth and a few Native artifacts. The hosts of the property were wonderful, and we were grateful to them for allowing us to come down! They later joined us on the creek to hunt treasures as well. We love it when our hosts can join us for an afternoon of fun! For many of us, this one of many creeks is our favorite to visit! The last of us packed up to leave later that afternoon as it wound down. Good thing we did: Thunderstorms were forming in the distance with thunder, lightning and rain. This time we won't get caught up in a flash flood like last year. It was a great day of finding fossilized treasures and we look forward to going back soon!
