Ann says: This is what I brought home today. It was a good day at the creek! Chase comment: That Paranamotodon is really cool! Very rare for the Santonian.
Here's all of the Cretaceous Period micro fossils from the quarter bucket of gravel I brought home from the creek trip Saturday. Pleasantly, surprised to find so much in so lil' gravel! Definitely, obtaining more if the opportunity arises again! In the picture: Scapanorynchus (Goblin Shark), Squalicorax, Ptychodus (pieces of Ptychodus teeth), Cretolamna, Pyncnodont tooth and Enchodus Palatine jaw piece, vertebrae, Gastropod, Pachyrizodus teeth, Ptychotrygon (Sawfish teeth), and Angel Shark tooth.
Brought back a quarter bucket of micro material thinking I wasn't gonna find much. To my surprise, I found these and others... I'm halfway through the material. Tiny Ptychodus, Cretolamna, and Squalicorax with two cusps! Cretaceous Period, Eutaw Formation, South Alabama
