BPS is holding an Open House at the Homewood Library on Sunday July 28, from 2:30 until 4pm, upstairs in the Round Auditorium. There will be light refreshments, fossils to examine, and a "fossil dig" where kids can find fossils, have them identified, and take them home. Our "Fossils of Alabama" exhibit is in the display cases at the library all month.

Our speaker on August 5 will be Dr. Dana Ehret, Curator of Paleontology for the Alabama Museum of Natural History at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Dr. Ehret's talk will focus on his work on the evolution of white sharks and is entitled “Fishing for the Origins of the White Shark in Peru." Hoover Public Library, Meeting Room C at 7pm.
