Tombecbe, where debris and artifacts were falling into the river and being lost to science. A number of BPS members showed up to assist Dr. Dumas. As buckets of debris were funneled down, various members took turns screening to remove the worst of the silt/dirt. The material left in the screens was taken to the lab for a more detailed examination.

Submitted by admin2 on Mon, 04/03/2017 - 4:25pmOn a rainy Saturday, a number of BPS members braved the weather to collect in a quarry in Bibb County. Numerous brachiopods, a few trilobites, a whole sponge, and bryozoans were found.

Our speaker for March is Dr. Kevin Kocot, assistant professor in Biological Sciences at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and the curator of invertebrate zoology at the Alabama Museum of Natural History.
