February 11, 2019 BPS Program – “LaBrea – an Urban Treasure”

Our speaker for February is Jesse Daniel, Onsite Interpretation Manager at the Birmingham Zoo, who will speak on “LaBrea – an Urban Treasure”.

Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 was an absolutely PERFECT day for a field trip!  There were

2019 BPS Combined Monthly Meeting, Annual Meeting & Board of Directors Meeting

Tonight's meeting will be our Annual Meeting, where members will vote for Officers, Directors, and Committee Chairs, followed by an installation ceremony.  The business meeting will start at 6:30 pm by request of the members.  There will not be a formal program tonight, though James Lamb may fill us in on some of his recent paleo activities.

All are welcome, members expected.

Our speaker for November is Dr. Andy Rindsberg, Associate Professor of Environmental Geology and Paleontology at the University of West Alabama, who will speak on “Herbert and Daisy Smith, collectors from Amazon to Alabama.” Hoover Public Library, Fitzgerald Room. Free and open to the public.

On Saturday, Sept. 22, a nice-sized group of BPS members and guests gathered in anticipation of

October 1, 2018 BPS Program – "New Insights into the Biology and Diversity of the Late Cretaceous Armored Dinosaurs."

Our speaker for October is Dr. Michael Burns, Assistant Professor of Biology at Jacksonville State University.
